Responsibilities

- The Ophthalmic Technician will assist ophthalmologists in providing comprehensive eye care services. This role involves performing diagnostic tests, assisting with examinations, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic.
- Essential Functions:
- Perform preliminary examinations and diagnostic tests, including visual acuity tests, tonometry, and retinal imaging.
- Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures, providing necessary instruments and support.
- Document patient histories, symptoms, and test results accurately in the electronic medical record system.
Requirements
- Qualifications
- High School diploma or its equivalent is required.
- + years’ experience as Ophthalmology Technician REQUIRED
- Ability to type 45 wpm.
- Advanced understanding of HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)/Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred.
