About This Physician Assistant - Ortho - Office and Surgery Role
An established and busy orthopedic surgery practice is seeking an experienced and motivated Physician Assistant to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with a solo practitioner in a fast-paced environment, providing a mix of clinical and surgical care. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and a passion for patient care, with the ability to work autonomously in a clinical setting and assist in a variety of orthopaedic surgeries. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and MRIs
- Formulate and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and performing in-office procedures
- First-assist in a variety of orthopaedic surgical procedures, including arthroscopy and joint replacements
- Manage post-operative care, including wound care, and patient education
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current Illinois Physician Assistant license
- At least 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant in an orthopedic or other surgical setting is preferred
- Surgical first-assist experience is highly desirable
- Experience with NextGen EMR is a plus
